Conductor

Conductor is performance collective I was part of from 2004-2006. The group consisted of Cy Norman, myself, Mike Robinson and his invention entitled "The Blind Eye Organ". The instrument was innitially invented to introduce drawing as an audible experience for blind people. Mike Robinson, who studied painting at The College of Fine Arts, has been performing his Blind Eye Organ since the late 90s in with Cy Norman. They recently undertook and Artist Residency at First Draft Gallery in 2008.

My role in this piece was primarily to construct live performative video for the performance. Using small surveillance cameras that I attached to Mike's hands and throughout the performace space, and a video mixer, I was able to generate abstracted moving images that reflected the crechendo of intensity in the audio performance. The video was mostly projected next to Mike's paper.

Please see below some documentation of a performance we did for a show at CAST Gallery (Contemporary Art Spaces Tasmania).
